PostHeaderIcon Dolphins Make Moves To Improve Team

The Miami Dolphins made the following moves to give the team a chance to make the playoffs:

Gone: Linebacker Matt Roth:  Injuries or whatever made him available for release

Safety Nate Ness: Gone to make room for addition of Evan Oglesby to help out our youngsters in the defensive secondary.

Injured Reserve: Jason Ferguson, Defensive End, Miami signed DE Ikaika Alama-Francis.

On to face Buffalo!  Go Dolphins!

The Miami Dolphins Placed Ronnie Brown on the injured reserve list today.   Now it is time for Chad Henne, Ricky Williams, and the Dolphin receiving core to show everyone the same high powered offense that Ronnie displayed when he ran the Wildcat.

Ricky Williams still is a superstar and can get up and go as he proved last week in the last few seconds of the game.

The Dolphins proved last week that football is a team sport and if players go down, someone steps into that position and performs.

This week the Dolphins face a hot Carolina team that has performed in recent games.  My opinion is Lex Hilliard will get some carries and perform like he did in pre-season.

Don’t give up the fight Dolphins Fans,  The Jets and Patriots both lost last week.  We are still in the playoff run.

Till next time,

John

The Patriots proved they still have the offensive weapons to rattle any defense.  While the Dolphins had success running the Wildcat with Pat White, Tom Brady and Randy Moss showed the Dolphins what hall of fame players can do to a defense.

The rookie Dolphins backfield did a fabulous job of covering most of the time.  Randy Moss did his magic as Tom Brady had all day to throw and get it anywhere close.  The only way to stop the Patriots is to sack Brady.  Unfortunately, that did not happen.

Vontae Davis had a pick, but I think that interception was all the inspiration Moss needed to take his game to that next level and totally dominate when he was thrown the ball.

Starks and Wake  each had a sack.

Dolphins introduce new formation
The Dolphins unveiled a different breed of “Wildcat” against the Patriots with Pat White acting as the point man. The rookie signal caller brought an added dimension to the formation as his potential to pass kept New England from bringing a host of blitzes off the corner when he entered the game. Additionally, Miami used the tactic to introduce a pistol-like formation that is prevalent in college. The modified shotgun formation brought White closer to the line of scrimmage (about four yards behind the center), which allowed the Dolphins to run speed option to the perimeter. While the tweak to one of their favorite offensive tactics didn’t result in a win, it gives defensive coordinators another gimmick to worry about when preparing for the Dolphins’ sophisticated rushing attack.
